Environmental Initiatives

Recently, natural and environmental issues have become major social issues at local and global scales. Based on the corporate philosophy "to create new systems and values using information technology and contribute to the realization of a prosperous, happy society," I-NET is proactively working on efforts to minimize the impact of its business activities on the environment, aiming to pass down a better environment to the next generation, as a company that is a public organ of society.

Eco-friendly data centers with environmental considerations

In managing data centers, consideration for the environment is an important initiative.
I-NET's data centers strive to conserve electricity by eco-friendly measures using the natural power of water and wind.
I-NET has also acquired the Rank A of Yokohama City Environment-conscious Building System (CASBEE Yokohama).
We have achieved eco-friendly data centers with increased environmental considerations for the environment along with durability.

Eco-friendly measures that utilize locations

Eco-friendly measures that utilize locations

I-NET's data centers are located on high grounds. The wind blows underneath the platforms on which HVAC outdoor units are placed even during the summer.
We increase the operational efficiency of the outdoor units, reducing the electricity consumption of HVAC units by utilizing this wind and having the outdoor units take in cool air even during the summer.

Utilizing waste water

Utilizing waste water

We design concrete rooftops with inclines from the design stage, achieving cooling effects by running water on the concrete when reflections are strong in the summer. We control the electricity consumption of HVAC units by implementing efficient HVAC operation.

The interiors of the colocation rooms feature flat ceilings with a floor height of 5m, which was the first in Japan at the time of construction. We reduce the electrical load of the HVAC units by fluently and softly circulating the air toward HVAC units along the ceiling.

Reducing electricity with energy conservation systems

Reducing electricity with energy conservation systems

Energy recovery ventilators and air-cooled packaged air conditioners (PAC) are installed in I-NET's data centers. Energy recovery ventilators exchange heat when ventilating the exhausted air of colocation rooms with the incoming outdoor air, ensuring that the outdoor air temperature is close to that of inside the rooms. This contributes to reducing HVAC electricity consumption according to the seasons.

I-NET Corp. built the environmental management system in the Data Centers (the 1st Data Center, the 2nd Data Center), acquired the certification of ISO14001 and has tried to reduce the environmental load.
As the natural environmental problem in the community and the earth becomes severe and detrimental topics these days, preservation of the global environment becomes urgent and pressing challenges common to human being. The strongly-built and high level secured Data Centers of our company operate as information infrastructure of industry and the society without stopping for 24 hours a day, for 365 days a year.
We considered minimizing the influence to the preservation of environment as one of our social responsibilities through the operation of our Data Centers and established the environmental policy to carry out the activities for environment load reduction.
